The Webster University women’s volleyball team is helping in the fight against breast cancer by sponsoring a “Dig Pink Night” October 26 at Grant Gymnasium. Donations raised from activities during that evening’s matches versus Greenville College (Ill.) and Washington University will go towards breast cancer research.

Donations may also be made online. (This is the same night as the “Trunk or Treat” outside the University Center.) Full details about the night’s activities follow:

Admission to the volleyball match is is free, but donations also will be accepted at the door. Activities will include games for fan participation and 50/50 raffles. Concessions and pink ribbons will be available for purchase as well.

You don’t have to wait until the 26th to help the Gorloks reach their goal.  Webster has a website set up, in cooperation with The Side Out Foundation, that allows you to make a dedicated donation towards the women’s volleyball team’s goal. You can donate at www.side-out.org/application/teams/team_page/3398.

As an added bonus for fans with young children, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee will be sponsoring a ‘Trunk or Treat’ on the University Center parking lot outside the gym at 6 p.m. Kids should come in costume for fun and free candy!

In addition to helping a good cause, fans will be treated to exciting volleyball action. The Gorloks take on SLIAC rival Greenville at 6 p.m. and the Bears, who are ranked #1 in the nation in the NCAA III, at 8 p.m. The volleyball team hopes to see everyone there supporting the Gorloks and helping contribute to a very worthy cause, the fight against breast cancer.
