Rodriguez receives Hope Award; coverage on KMOV

Guillermo Rodriguez, director, Study Abroad and International Projects, received the 2010 Premio Esperanza (Hope Award) from the Hispanic Leaders Group of Greater St. Louis (HLG), during a ceremony last Friday.

The event was covered by St. Louis CBS television affiliate KMOV (Channel 4), whose footage can be seen here: Promoting Hispanic Heritage (KMOV).

Founded in 1983, the mission of HLG is to be a representative, strong, and supportive voice of the Hispanic community in the regional St. Louis area, by keeping informed and abreast of local and national issues that impact the Hispanic community, to promote views on issues to help in the development of a harmonious and diverse St. Louis community.

Premio Esperanza was established by the Hispanic Leaders Group of Greater St. Louis in 2003 under the initiative of Anthony B. Ramirez. The establishment of the annual recognition program helps bring forth to the public those distinguished individuals and/or organizations.
