| October 8, 2010

From Kate Northcott, director of Literacy Corps, adjunct professor, School of Education:

Retrieval Date: Tues., Oct. 12

Box locations:
• Bookstore entrance
• Career Services
• Marletto’s main entrance
• Pearson House lobby
• Schultze Hall, Eden Seminary 2nd floor
• Sverdrup, Emerson Lounge
• University Center, near info desk

Just a reminder that the Webster Works worldwide Children’s Book Drive has begun. New and gently used books for children — from infants to adolescents — are being collected in bright yellow boxes located around campus. If you come up with more books after the retrieval date of Oct. 12, we certainly wouldn’t refuse them – just call and I’ll come get them.

Please consider asking family or friends if their children have any books they’ve outgrown. And don’t forget garage sales (Wed. and Sat.) and Goodwill – they’re great resources for inexpensive books. They will be donated to local schools, family literacy programs, and women’s shelters, adding to their limited resources and providing increased opportunities for children to ‘fall in love with reading.’
