Author Eddie Chuculate Gives Reading

Author Eddie Chuculate visits with students during book signing following his presentation.*

On Thursday, Sept. 23, the English Department hosted author Eddie Chuculate, reading from his book, Cheyenne Madonna. A Creek and Cherokee Indian from Muskogee, Olka., Chuculate worked as a sports writer and copy editor for nearly two decades while pursuing his fiction writing career. This year he was admitted into the highly regarded Iowa Writers Workshop, a graduate level creative-writing program at the University of Iowa. He received a PEN/O. Henry Award in 2007 and was featured in the July/Aug. 2010 edition of World Literature Today as the publication’s “emerging author.”
