Dean’s Spring II Service Awards

Ted Hoef, associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students, announces the selection of Anna Barton, Katie Farrar, Rachel Henson and Jenni Taylor to receive the Spring II Dean’s Award for Service.

Up to four students are honored each term with the Dean’s Service Award. Students considered for the award are nominated by a member of the Webster University community for the performance of a valuable service. Hoef says the term “service” encompasses a broad range of contributions made by students, both on- and off-campus.

Anna Barton, a senior English and education double major from St. Louis, was nominated by Kate Northcott, director of literacy corps, adjunct professor, School of Education, and S. Patrick McEvoy, principal, Maplewood Richmond Heights High School, for her outstanding efforts working with high school students and students in the Student Success Center in the area of reading and literacy.

Katie Farrar, a senior Spanish and management double major from Spring Mountain, Tenn., was nominated by Sarah Tetley, assistant director, Housing and Residential Life, for her outstanding efforts stepping in to serve as president of the Residential Housing Association (RHA).

Rachel Henson, a senior biology major from House Springs, Mo., was nominated by Stephanie Schroeder, chair, Biological Sciences, for her exemplary volunteer efforts helping the department in the biology labs.

Jenni Taylor, a junior education major from Phoenix, Ariz., was nominated by Jennifer Casady, community director, Housing And Residential Life, for her leadership of Students for Gender Equality and for directing two performances:  A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer,” and Vagina Monologues.

Outstanding Student Employee Award Recipients for Spring II

Liz Condon-Oakberg, coordinator of student employment, Student Affairs, has announced the selection of the students to receive the Outstanding Student Employee Award for Spring II: Aramide Adesina, Katye Ellison, Abby Klobe and Wisnu Sugiarto.

To be considered for the award, students must be nominated by a member of the Webster University community for working at a superior level in the department where they work and the University as a whole.

Aremide Adesina, a graduate student in business administration from Nigeria, was nominated by Ann Brophy, director, Student Health Services, and Patrick Stack, director, Counseling And Life Development, for her outstanding work as office manager for the Health Services and Counseling Departments.

Katye Ellison, a senior international relations major from Albuquerque, N.M., was nominated by Maureen Stroer, program coordinator, Career Services for her outstanding work as Career Services’ office assistant.

Abby Klobe, a senior English major from Florissant, Mo., was nominated by Tammy Linn, communications coordinator and student employment supervisor, Office Of Admission, for her outstanding work as an office assistant in the Office of Admission.

Wisnu Sugiarto, a sophomore management and finance double major from Indonesia, was nominated by Jennifer Casady, community director, Housing And Residential Life, for his excellent work as a resident assistant (RA) in West Hall.
