Gilmore, CPP, has been selected to lead the Business and Organizational Security Management Program at Webster University’s Walker School of Business and Technology.  This program focuses on strategic aspects of the field including:  government security management, legal and ethical issues in business security management, business assets protection, terrorism and extremist activity, violence in the workplace, emergency planning and information systems security.

Gilmore has been a member of the graduate faculty at Webster University since 1994, and he currently serves as an adjunct professor and area mentor in the National Capital Region.  He teaches courses in the areas of emergency planning and terrorism/extremist activity, and has also taught at The George Washington University.

For more than 40 years, Gilmore has been involved with various aspects of security, intelligence, law enforcement, emergency management and counterterrorism.  He is a retired U.S. Army Military Police Officer, a member of ASIS International, formerly known as the American Society for Industrial Security, and is a past chairman of the organization’s Academic and Training Programs Council. Since 1998, he has chaired the annual ASIS Academic/Practitioner Symposium.  In addition, he is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), and is a member of the Advisory Board of Security Journal, the foremost scholarly journal in the field of security.
