Commencement Flag Ceremony
The Multicultural Center and International Student Affairs office coordinates a special international event during our annual Commencement ceremony in May. Students from around the world may apply to represent their home country in our Flag Procession during the main ceremony at Commencement.
Students who are interested in carrying the flag of their home country during our Commencement ceremony are asked to complete a brief application online at
APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR 2016 — Friday, April 15th. Details on the upcoming ceremony will be available on the Commencement website at www.webster.edu/commencement, or please contact the MCISA at email@example.com for more information.
Please note: In the case where more than one student from the same country is interested in carrying the flag, students will be asked to submit a resume or CV highlighting their Grade Point Average and all campus involvements to the MCISA director for review by our selection committee. Flag bearers will be selected based on significant positive contributions to campus during your studies. Deadline to submit your CV or resume is April 20, 2016.
The MCISA does not select flag bearers for the US flag, the Missouri State flag, or the Webster University flag. Those flag bearers are selected by the Dean of Students in recognition of outstanding leadership on campus.
Students who are selected for this honor will receive notification from the MCISA in late April. Students must be available to participate in a rehearsal on the Friday prior to Commencement.
In early February, students who plan to participate in Commencement can find a full array of information online at: http://www.webster.edu/commencement/. Be sure to RSVP and submit your Petition to Graduate Form if you are planning to attend.
