Primary Responsibilities: Serves as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) and Responsible Office (RO). Contact person for F-1 and J-1 students and scholars immigration compliance. Extended campuses contact person regarding international student admission policies and procedures. Works with students who want to either come to study in United States from one of our international campuses. Works with prospective, international undergraduate freshman students.

Primary Responsibilities: Working with prospective international undergraduate adult freshmen (first-year students) and undergraduate transfer students. Also serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 visa students & their dependents and an Alternative Responsible Officer (ARO) for J-1 visa students, scholars & their dependents. Admission questions from transfer and adult-first year students should be directed to Ms. Janka Ribando. Immigration and visa questions can also be directed to her.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Counsel and advise international and American minority students on a wide range of issues including: university policies and procedures; career, educational, and personal matters; cultural adjustment; and academic advising
  • Assist international students with various needs to support their success – cultural adjustment, orientation, taxes, immigration regulations and other services such as advice on applying for a driver’s license or social security card
  • Coordinate, implement and evaluate a wide variety of cultural, educational and social programs to promote cultural understanding
  • Provide guidance and advice to international student organizations and groups
  • Chair the International Student Success Committee
  • Represent international student issues and concerns on divisional and university-wide committees including International Programs and International Student Services

  • Provide academic counseling to students
  • Focus on and assist with student success university-wide

  • Oversee Writing Center and Plagiarism Prevention Program (PPP) functions and communications
  • Hire, train and supervise Writing Center and PPP student and staff employees
  • Develop and enforce Writing Center and PPP policies and procedures
  • Ensure Writing Center and PPP processes and maintenance of academic integrity
  • Work with students and faculty and staff members to assist them with their writing, including composing, revising and polishing their writing
  • Provide academic counseling to students
  • Participate in MCISA International Student Orientations
  • Work with international students through weekly discussion group
  • Serve on the International Student Success Committee

  • Work with others at Webster to develop Admissions standards to identify conditionally-admitted students

  • Offer support and direction for University issues related to disabilities and accommodations
  • Develop and distribute documents and information related to providing equitable learning and access opportunities for all Webster students
  • Work with students and faculty members to provide accommodations to students with documented disabilities, ultimately leading to student success
  • Meet with incoming students, often with their family members, to answer questions about accommodations and services at Webster, document the students’ needs and set up accommodations
  • Provide academic counseling to students

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Provide assistive technology consultations, access and resources to students
  • Assist students and faculty members in acquiring and setting up accessible course materials
  • Serve as an advocate and work with students and employees to ensure accessible physical locations and services on campus
  • Provide assistive technology, including books in alternative format, audio books, note taking apps, smart pens and more, as appropriate to students’ approved accommodations
  • Assist with student access to Kurzweil 3000, a reading literacy software that is available to all students and which helps students who struggle with dyslexia, reading speed and reading comprehension
  • Provide academic counseling to students
