About guest speakerMarion Bataille is a fantastically imaginative designer and a pioneer in pop-up books. A graduate from the Ecole supérieure d’arts graphiques, she started as a freelance graphic designer and a collage illustrator, and then became the artistic director of the cultural magazine Télérama.

On Monday, February 6, Marion Bataille will give a 45-minute talk and a 15-minute Q&A. She will present her work method, her approach to typography, as well as her published books, and explains the production process, from presenting a project to a publisher to the printing the book.

Her 3D alphabet book was first published as Op-Up and presented at the Nigel Greenwood Gallery in London; it was then discovered by the publishing house Albin Michel, and became an international best-seller under the title ABC3D. With Ten, (Roaring Brook Press, 2011), and Numero (Chronicle Books, 2013), Marion Bataille continues her visually dazzling work on typography and numbers.
