‘Big Fat LGBT Show of Shows’ Comes to Sunnen Lounge on Oct. 11

“The Big Fat LGBT Everything You Need to Know Show of Shows” comes to Webster University at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in Sunnen Lounge as part of the Cross-Cultural Engagement Conference.

The free performance is a production of That Uppity Theatre Company. The award-winning theater company was founded by Joan Lipkin, BA in English 1975, to put the principles of cultural diversity into theatrical practice and to promote art-based civic dialogue. Lipkin, who received the College of Arts & Sciences’ 2002 Outstanding Alumna Award, serves as the group’s producing artistic director.

The hour-long “Big Fat LGBT Everything You Need to Know Show of Shows” uses sketch comedy, song, dance, and audience participation to help spread awareness of LGBT issues. The show includes a sketch titled “Straight as a Second Language,” the game-show parody “Is He/She or Isn’t He/She?” and definitions, as well as legal updates.
